CHARLESTON, SC3 – Choate Construction Company celebrates the major milestone of structural steel and concrete completion on two distribution facilities for Edgewater Ventures in North Myrtle Beach’s Palmetto Coast Industrial Park. In honor of the individuals whose hard work and dedication are driving these projects forward, Choate Construction held a trade partner appreciation event to commemorate the “topping out” of the Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV) distribution facility and an adjacent speculative warehouse.

“We are grateful to be working alongside such a talented, committed group of partners to deliver these facilities for Edgewater Ventures,” says Tim Heichelbech, Vice President and Division Manager for Choate Construction in Charleston. “The teamwork and collaboration between key stakeholders, trade partners, and our Choate teams have been steadfast and seamless, and we’re honored by the opportunity to bring the first two structures to the area’s first Class-A industrial park.”

Edgewater Ventures, PBV Distribution Facility
As the first company to move into Palmetto Coast, PBV expands its operations with a 165,000-SF rear-load tilt facility, complete with 32-foot clear heights, 10 dock doors, 5 drive-in truck doors, an impact-rated storefront, and a premium wash bay. Additionally, the project team installs metal wall protection panels on the interior, specifically tailored to the end-users’ needs. The facility, which can hold more than 458 million Pepsi cans inside, will house a fully equipped fleet maintenance shop with three service bays. HagerSmith Design PA is the architect for this facility.

Edgewater Ventures Speculative Warehouse
Adjacent to the PBV distribution facility, construction of a 165,000-SF spec distribution/warehouse is also underway for Edgewater Ventures. This tilt-wall concrete structure includes 22 dock doors, 32-foot clear height, and 2 drive-in truck ramps. The scope also includes 2 additional building pads for future facilities coming soon. An external fire pump house is constructed on the property to serve the entire development.
