Greenville-based engineering firm Davis & Floyd Inc. has acquired a Beaufort-based company.

The acquisition of Andrews Engineering Co. Inc. is part of Davis & Floyd’s strategic plan to expand its capabilities and services in the coastal region of South Carolina, a news release from the company stated.

Andrews Engineering, founded in 1990 by Steve Andrews, has established a reputation for providing high-quality engineering services to public and private sectors in the Lowcountry, the release stated. The firm specializes in civil engineering, surveying, land planning, and construction management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrews Engineering to the Davis & Floyd family. The team at Andrews has built a strong reputation in the Lowcountry for delivering innovative engineering solutions that meet the unique needs of its clients,” Stephen Davis, chairman & CEO at Davis & Floyd, said in the release. “This acquisition will allow us to expand our reach in the region and better serve our collective clients.”

Under the terms of the acquisition, Andrews Engineering will be integrated into Davis & Floyd’s existing Beaufort office with all employees joining the Davis & Floyd team, according to the release. Andrews will serve as a vice president and Beaufort office leader.

The acquisition is effective immediately and Davis & Floyd will work closely with Andrews Engineering to ensure a seamless transition for all clients and employees, the release stated.

Davis & Floyd has offices in Beaufort, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenwood and Greenville.
