Hana Engineers and Consultants LLC (www.hanaengineers.com) has hired Beverly Barfield as resource manager in the firm’s North Charleston office. Hana is an environmental and geotechnical engineering firm based in Richmond, Va., that works primarily with government and military contracting, particularly with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Barfield’s responsibilities at Hana include proposal management and administrative duties. She previously was employed as senior copy editor for SC Biz News and in copy editing and design roles at two other S.C. newspapers. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Hana Engineers and Consultants is certified as an 8(a) small business by the U.S. Small Business Administration. In addition, Hana is certified by the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise as a Small, Women-owned and Minority-owned business enterprise (SWaM).
