Thomas & Hutton’s Sean Flynn Named To South Carolina Research Authority Board Of Trustees

Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce the appointment of Myrtle Beach Regional Director and Civil Manager Sean Flynn, PE, to the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Board of Trustees on October 28, 2022. SCRA was chartered in 1983 by the South Carolina State Legislature to fuel South Carolina’s innovation economy by accelerating technology-enabled growth of academia, entrepreneurship, and industry. SCRA connects technology enterprises, entrepreneurs, and academics with vital grant funding, coaching, resource coordination, and workspace, empowering them to meet South Carolina’s commercial and industrial needs.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Sean joins other leaders from corporate, academic, and government organizations across South Carolina to advise and assist the SCRA in its efforts to make South Carolina the first choice for technology-focused industry, entrepreneurs, and academics.

Sean joined Thomas & Hutton in 2010 and has 27 years of project management experience in site development and infrastructure design in the coastal areas of South Carolina. A licensed Professional Engineer, Sean earned his Master’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Sean is an active member of the Georgetown County Water & Sewer District Board of Directors, Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, Georgetown County Alliance for Economic Development Board of Directors, South Carolina Economic Developers Association, and Water Environment Association of South Carolina.
