March 1, 2021 – Columbia, South Carolina

LS3P is pleased to congratulate Senior Architect | Designer Chris Rose, AIA, ASID, who has been invited to join the Historic Columbia Preservation Committee (HC). HC is a society that supports local preservation efforts that “architecturally, historically, and culturally” enhance significant places around the Columbia area, according to the John Sherrer, Director of Cultural Resources. The society is comprised of individuals that contribute their advocacy and education.

Rose, a nationally recognized architect and interior designer, brings significant expertise across diverse market sectors. A graduate of Clemson University who owned a firm in Charleston for 25 years, Rose has designed a substantial portfolio of award-winning work for commercial, residential, restaurant, hospitality, civic, healthcare, and faith clients across the Southeast and beyond.

Rose began his architectural career in Columbia, where he co-founded the city’s Community Design Center working to reduce energy costs for underserved populations through improved efficiency in their homes. He has also worked extensively in the affordable housing sector; his design of the Charleston Cottages for the homeless earned a national AIA Honor Award, making him the youngest recipient of that recognition in 1991.

Rose founded Christopher Rose Architects, PA in Charleston in 1995, earning additional national exposure when he designed the LEED Platinum HGTV Dream Home in 2013.
Rose has been actively involved in community and professional organizations, including local, state, and national levels of the AIA; his work has been published in both books and magazines, and he is highly sought after as a speaker and design jury member.

“I am humbled and honored to have been selected by this esteemed organization,” says Rose.
